Craziest crossover ever?! Alan Shearer's iconic 'pressure is for tyres' Euros commentary used in viral Kamala Harris TikTok campaign

In a truly bizarre crossover, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' team has uploaded a clip to TikTok, showing Kamala and running-mate Tim Walz at various events. The soundtrack is a mashup of music and Shearer's commentary from England's penalty shootout win over Switzerland at the 2024 European Championship, in which he claims "pressure is for tyres".

Shearer's iconic line of commentary came after England scored every penalty in a 5-3 win over Switzerland to progress to the Euro 2024 semi-finals. Of course, they were eventually beaten by Spain in the final, something Harris will hope is not an ominous portent.

America will go to the polls on November 5, with the choice between Harris and Republican Donald Trump. Harris stepped in as the Democratic candidate after Joe Biden withdrew from the running.
