<p>The stars were out in Los Angeles on Monday evening as prestigious awards were presented to actors and producers from the biggest television shows around. McElhenney was in attendance to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/wales-forever-mr-lively-sir-anthony-hopkins-message-ryan-reynolds-deadpool-emmy-award-welcome-to-wrexham/blte1994507a0d3037b" target="_blank">collect a prize for the Welcome to Wrexham documentary series</a> that he has pieced together with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/inside-wrexham-what-really-like-play-hollywood-owners/blt05546ce51783922f" target="_blank">fellow co-chairman Ryan Reynolds</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>While he had plenty to celebrate there, McElhenney had been hoping to see his beloved Eagles keep their quest for Super Bowl glory in 2024 on track. He was not prepared to miss the build-up to their NFL play-off clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and made a point of ignoring those around him as he watched a live stream on his phone.</p>
