The report has also suggested that Eddie Howe doesn't want Callum Wilson sold or loaned out this month as he believes the two experienced players are pivotal to his plans for the rest of the season. Additionally, the striker is open to negotiations with the Rossoneri, if Newcastle are open to the move.

Although Tino Livramento, who cost about £40 million ($50.8 million) to sign from Southampton, is thought to be Trippier's long-term replacement, Newcastle believe their captain is still essential to the club's ambitions for this season at the very least. The same is the case with Wilson, who has already been overtaken by Alexander Isak in the pecking order but has the trust of Howe as an experienced striker.
