The shirt features a black base, while the design – which is bespoke and hand drawn by Labrum London - “represents the movement and flow of people and celebrates a pattern commonly found in African designs, artefacts, and decorations”.

Arsenal say the new kit celebrates the club’s “connection to its supporters from across the African diaspora via inspiration from African design traditions”. Throughout the zig-zag pattern are small specs of black, which represent Cowrie shells – an early form of currency in parts of Africa. The traditional pan-African colours of red and green also figure prominently across the collar and stripes which run down the shoulders – as well as in the famous cannon crest.

Nwankwo Kanu, a former Nigeria international and two-time Premier League title winner with Arsenal, has said: “I’m so proud to represent my club and my heritage through this design from Labrum London. It’s such a nice shirt. I love how the patterns and colours represent our connection to players of African descent and our supporters in our communities in Islington and around the world. It’s great to see us celebrating this unique connection with such a stylish design. I’m excited to see our teams wearing it on the road next season.”

The collaboration with Labrum London also includes a five-piece capsule collection “featuring the patterns and colours seen on the away kit reimagined across two jackets, a tee, a jumper and a track pant”. The 2024-25 Arsenal away kit, which is set to be worn by the men's and women's team in Premier League and WSL action, is available to purchase now.
