Trouble for Arne Slot? Liverpool CEO Michael Edwards approached by Al-Hilal with FSG chief open to role at Saudi Pro League giants

The Saudi side have approached Edwards, according to Give Me Sport, and the director has suggested he is open to a move in the future, though he is reportedly happy with his role as CEO of football at Fenway Sports Group.

Al-Hilal want Edwards to play a crucial role as they look to become the dominant force in the Middle East, having missed out on the Saudi Pro League and AFC Champions League titles this season. They see Liverpool's structure as an example to follow and hope Edwards can implement important changes in Riyadh.

While Edwards may not take up the offer to leave Liverpool at present, he could revisit a possible Saudi switch in the future. In the meantime, he is said to have been tasked with finding a new team to add to FSG's multi-club ownership model.

Liverpool will finish off the season with a game against Crystal Palace this weekend. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal will soon start their preparations for the Club World Cup as they look to prove they can compete with teams from around the globe.
