Milan, relief over Gonçalo Ramos: MRI scan negative. Hip injections for Chukwueze, who will be reassessed in 10-15 days

In recent hours, Milan have faced fitness concerns over Gonçalo Ramos and Samu Chukwueze ahead of Serie A and the Europa League. The club gave this update in a statement:

Gonçalo Ramos

He underwent scans to assess the fatigue he felt in his left calf. The MRI scan came back negative.

Samuel Chukwueze

He had a specialist consultation for the problem with his left hip and has begun a course of injections. He is due for a further assessment of his progress in 10 to 15 days.

  • Amorim’s words

On the eve of the match against Bournemouth, manager Ruben Amorim also addressed the injuries: "I'm not sure about Chukwueze. It's a different setback from Ramos's. For Ramos, it's a minor issue, just a precaution. He only felt a bit of muscle stiffness. But we're prepared."

  • Injuries

Milan's treatment room is getting crowded. Samuel Chukwueze felt pain in his left hip after the win over Atalanta and will undergo a specialist examination in the coming hours. He could face a lengthy spell out. Matteo Gabbia, who has a thigh flexor muscle injury involving partial damage to the tendon, and Alexis Saelemaekers, who has undergone ankle surgery, will not return until 2027.
