Arsenal

Currently, the Gunners are the favourites to win the Champions League, with the bookies backing Mikel Arteta and his men. They’ve never won a major European title, but have performed exceptionally in this year’s competition. Arsenal triumphed in all eight of their league games, conceding just four goals.

Arteta’s side also lead the Premier League, though they’ve displayed some vulnerabilities lately. With a few injuries to deal with and dropped points, teams have proven that the Londoners’ defence isn’t unbreachable. It remains to be seen whether they can successfully compete across multiple competitions simultaneously.

We’re backing Arsenal for the league title in England, but don’t expect a double happening.

Bayern Munich

Die Bayern have established themselves as the second-best team in the UCL this season, having dropped points just once. Consequently, they’re second favourites behind the Gunners. Harry Kane remains prolific, and Vincent Kompany’s side have only failed to win five games across all competitions in 2025/26.

Although goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has recently been sidelined due to injury, Jamal Musiala’s return strengthens the squad. Kompany possesses significant talent within his team, which frequently achieve dominant victories. They’ll definitely be eager to clinch their 11th continental title.

Bayern are worth backing, but there’s not great value in them. That being said, they are likely to win the Champions League.

Barcelona

Despite leading La Liga for significant periods and performing well in Europe, Barcelona have received relatively little attention this season. Recent poor results have impacted their chances of securing other titles. However, they have a talented squad and are expected to put up a fight against Real Madrid for the league title.

In Europe they’re listed among the favourites, though this status may not be entirely justified. They’ve already lost to PSG and Chelsea in the competition, and don’t seem like potential winners this year. Although they cannot be overlooked with players like Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski, they’ve not appeared particularly strong.

Hansi Flick’s side have struggled with injuries, and that’s decreased their chances. We don’t expect them to clinch another European title.

Manchester City

The primary issue for Manchester City this season has been their inconsistent form. They were devastating one week and uninspired the next. Pep Guardiola is focused on pursuing Arsenal in the Premier League. Consequently, their results in European competition have been somewhat disappointing.

The technical ability of the squad cannot be questioned, as City possess a brilliant group of players. However, there are concerns regarding their application and lack of consistency. As a result, they do not currently seem like typical European champions.

While they have the quality to win the tournament, they are too inconsistent to do so.

Paris Saint-Germain

The reigning champions are attempting to become the first team in nearly a decade to retain the title. Luis Enrique’s side were exceptional last season and have kept the majority of that team together this season. However, their 2025/26 campaign has been inconsistent, and they currently sit second in Ligue 1.

Significant injuries have hindered their progress, with Ousmane Dembélé being forced off again earlier this week. Nevertheless, PSG are capable of reaching higher levels of performance. As the most critical part of the season approaches, their talented squad makes them a potential value pick.

We anticipate that they will improve their form. If they do so, they could still win the competition.

Liverpool

Unlike other major contenders, the Reds will likely make the Champions League their primary objective. While other challengers are involved in domestic title races, Arne Slot’s team are not in that position. They’re progressing in the FA Cup, but European success is the best way to salvage a difficult season.

Additionally, the men from Merseyside have improved significantly recently. They’ve lost only two of their last 19 across all competitions, and have recorded some big wins in Europe. Notable European victories over elite teams like Real Madrid and Inter Milan prove that they can compete at the highest level.

Given that the UCL will be their almost sole aim, they have a genuine chance of success. However, there is a concern that some of their early-season frailties could return.
