"Darwin Núñez is my close friend"

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has opened up on the cultural shift within his squad that has sparked a significant upturn in Premier League form. After a massive summer of investment, the Italian believes his players have finally transitioned from a group of talented individuals into a cohesive unit.

Roberto De Zerbi singled out Sandro Tonali as "unbelievable" after Tottenham beat 10-man Crystal Palace 2-0 on Saturday evening to win three games in a row. The Spurs boss also hailed Luca Williams-Barnett as "a big, big talent" after handing the 18-year-old his Premier League debut, but admitted his side must be nastier if they want to chase perfection.

Pierre Sage's future at Crystal Palace is hanging by a thread after Jean-Philippe Mateta's 13th-minute red card paved the way for a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham. Archie Gray and Jan Paul van Hecke both headed home as Roberto De Zerbi's side won three games in a row for the first time in 616 days, while Palace slipped into the Premier League's bottom three.
