The tournament might not kick-off for the best part of two years, but the extended international break offered some early clues as to how the challengers are shaping up
Piers Morgan has launched a scathing attack on Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus, accusing the veteran tactician of showing "shocking disrespect" toward Cristiano Ronaldo. The outspoken broadcaster drew a direct comparison between Jesus and former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, suggesting the coach is prioritising his own reputation over the legendary forward's status.
Denmark manager Brian Riemer has issued a glowing assessment of Rasmus Hojlund, suggesting that while rivals may not see him on the same level as Erling Haaland, the striker is just as vital to the Danish cause. The Napoli forward proved his worth once again by securing a crucial victory for his nation during their latest Nations League outing in Cardiff.
Wales endured a frustrating night in Cardiff as their Nations League campaign hit another stumbling block against a superior Denmark side. Despite a spirited defensive effort for large periods, a lapse in concentration at the back proved fatal for Craig Bellamy's injury-hit squad.
