Schalke 04 can secure their return to the Bundesliga this weekend, but a major concern lingers ahead of the match. According to Bild, the club are deeply concerned ahead of their potential promotion play-off against relegation-threatened Fortuna Dusseldorf, fearing that supporters plan to storm the pitch at all costs.
Fortuna began the season aiming for promotion, yet now faces the very real prospect of relegation. Such an outcome would have severe consequences and reflect badly on two former decision-makers.
U.S. men's national team defender John Tolkin suffered an apparent leg injury while playing for Holstein Kiel on Friday. The injury came just seven minutes into Kiel's match against Fortuna Dusseldorf, forcing the fullback out early and raising concern for both club and country as the season enters its final stretch.
