    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs' Academy has been producing quality players for the last couple of years.

One of the players who has done well is 15-year-old Chukwudi Luvuno who played a crucial role in helping the junior team win the GDL treble in 2023.

The teenager has now been signed by the Charlotte Academy U16 and U17 team, which will take part in the MLS Next competition.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Luvuno joins other players developed by the club who have left.

St Louis City's Njabulo Blom, who is another graduate from Amakhosi, left after his loan deal expired following his failure to impress in the concluded campaign.

Sabelo Radebe, Ntando Nkosi, and Siphesihle Tati have been released recently by the Glamour Boys, who are desperate to have a strong team to effectively compete next season.

    WHAT NEXT?

Amakhosi finished ninth on the PSL table, which is not good by their standards, but did win the Nedbank Cup to end their long trophy drought and qualify for continental competition.

With the Caf Confederation Cup coming in the 2025/26 edition, coach Nasreddine Nabi can't afford to have liabilities in his squad.

Some quality players are expected in Naturena once the transfer window opens officially.
