    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs forward Ranga Chivaviro has been struggling for form and that has seen him clashing with the Soweto giants' fans.

Former Amakhosi striker Collins Mbesuma shares advice about what could make Chivaviro a darling of Chiefs fans.

    WHAT MBESUMA SAID

“I think he should fix his attitude towards the supporters when he performs very well by scoring,” Mbesuma told FARPost.

“As a striker, your main job is to score goals. If you keep on missing those chances, the supporters become frustrated, and they will boo you.

“There is a match [against SuperSport United], he was booed. Later on, he scored, and his celebration was directed to the supporters [saying they talk too much]. As a professional, you shouldn’t do that," added the former Zambia international forward.

“Players should have a strong relationship with supporters. Those are the people who can make your career or completely destroy it. They can help you build a good reputation as well.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Chivaviro has managed three Premier Soccer League goals in eight appearances which include five starts.

The former Marumo Gallants star also had a goal in two Carling Knockout matches, which he all started.

His struggles for goals could be a reflection of the difficulties faced by other Chiefs forwards like Ashley du Preez and Christian Saile Basomboli who are finding it hard to turn themselves into prolific scorers.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIVAVIRO?

A few days remain before the PSL transfer window opens and coach Nasreddine Nabi has placed signing a striker on top of his priorities.

That would provide more competition for Chivaviro and other Amakhosi forwards as the club seeks to finish the season in a respectable position.

Chivaviro is also entering the last six months of his Chiefs contract and improving on his performances would earn him a new deal.
