    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs have been facing attacking frailties after failing to sign a striker in the last player transfer window.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi focused more on signing defenders like Inacio Miguel, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross and Bongani Sam, leaving a big gap upfront.

Nabi has come out in the open to express his needs ahead of the January transfer window.

    WHAT NABI SAID

"We can't create a lot of opportunities when we don't have a clear idea, game model, of what we have been putting at training," Nabi said as per KickOff.

"It's true, there are a lot [of] options we're looking at to try to solve the issue, probably bring someone. It's one of the options that might give the solution to the issue.

"It's true, we know that it has been an issue conceding goals, but we need to look at the bigger picture.

"When you don't score, you give the opportunity and morale to the opponent," added the Tunisian.

"That's why we don't want to put the blame on the defenders. We want everyone to work harder, offensively and defensively."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Amakhosi forwards like Ranga Chivaviro, Ashley du Preez and Christian Saile Basomboli have not met the expectations placed on them.

That has left midfielder Mduduzi Shabalala as Chiefs' top goal-scorer with three Premier Soccer League goals from eight games and none in two Cup matches.

Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis has already been mentioned as a possible January transfer target for Chiefs although Nabi says they need more than the Bafana Bafana star.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?

The January transfer window is fast approaching and teams are finalising their targets to beef up their squads.

Amakhosi are left with two games in December and it is to be seen if the forwards they have will come to the party and not create more concerns upfront.
