  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Pitso Mosimane fell out with Iranian outfit Esteghlal a couple of months ago.

He has been a free agent since then, despite his qualities, having coached domestically and abroad, winning major trophies in the process.

Zamalek have been without a coach since the sacking of Jose Peseiro owing to a poor run of results across all competitions.

Ex-Zamalek player Ahmed Hassan now claims Jingles has been presented to the club.

    WHAT HASSAN SAID

"Exclusive, Zamalek’s management has received a recommendation from some intermediaries to appoint Pitso Mosimane as head coach starting from next season," the 50-year-old former midfielder stated.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mosimane's first stint in Egypt was with Al Ahly where he coached from 2020 to 2022.

During his spell with the Red Devils, he won the Egyptian Premier League, the Egypt Cup, two Caf Champions League titles, and two Caf Super Cups.

It is interesting to see whether Zamalek will give Mosimane another chance to work in Egypt.

If that happens, Jingles might play against former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro, who has been tipped to join Al Ahly.

    WHAT NEXT?

Mosimane has been linked with Libyan national team, as well as the vacant position at Pirates.

After recent struggles in the Middle East, Mosimane will surely be aiming at taking over a stable project.
