Revealed: Millions Jose Riveiro is set to earn at Al Ahly as Spanish coach looks to take key member of Orlando Pirates' technical team to North Africa as part of his technical team - REPORT

Jose Riveiro is set to leave Orlando Pirates after the Premier Soccer League game against Golden Arrows on Tuesday night.

It will bring to an end his three-year stay in Mzansi, where he has had arguably immense success domestically and abroad.

Riveiro has been heavily linked with a move to Al Ahly, a team he beat in Group C of the 2024/25 Caf Champions League; it ended 0-0 at Orlando Stadium before Bucs won 2-1 in Cairo.

Pirates' physical trainer Carlos Nodar Paz could reportedly join Riveiro in North Africa as a member of Al Ahly's new technical team, having joined the Buccaneers prior to the start of this season.

The Egyptian outfit opted to part ways with Marcel Koller, and contact has been reportedly made with Riveiro's agent.

Having won five trophies with Pirates in Mzansi and helped push Masandawana for the Premier Soccer League crown, the Spaniard is among the highly rated tacticians in Africa.

Reports have it that Al Ahly will give Riveiro an initial two-year deal.

"Al-Ahly's management agreed with Rivero on a monthly salary of $135,000 (R2.4 million), including the salaries of his foreign assistants, bringing the total to $1,620,000 per year," Yallakora reported.

"Al-Ahly also agreed with the Spanish coach to give him a three-month salary bonus if they win the CAF Champions League title, and a one-month salary for any other title."

Unlike Pirates, Al Ahly are strict when it comes to performance and titles, starting from local to international ones.

Once confirmed, the massive task for Riveiro will be to ensure his team delivers in the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup to be played in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
