Harry Kane ready for 'special' reunion with 'old faces' at Tottenham as Bayern Munich striker works on 'sharpness' after breaking trophy curse

England captain Kane did face Spurs in north London during the summer of 2024. He remained trophyless at that point, but finally broke his curse in that department last season when becoming a Bundesliga title winner.

Kane is now preparing to lock horns with familiar foes again, with Bayern playing host to Tottenham at the Allianz Arena on Thursday. The most prolific of No.9s will be eager to add to his goal tally against a team that he remains the all-time leading scorer for.

Kane has told his channel on Cleats Club: “Looking forward to the game against Tottenham on Thursday. Always special to play against them no matter what type of game it is. We’ll look forward to seeing a few old faces there as well. Back at the Allianz in front of the fans as well. Appreciate the support and see you guys soon.”

Kane started Bayern’s first pre-season friendly ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, against Lyon, and is working on building up the match fitness that has allowed him to register 85 goals across the last two seasons. He added: “Really good to be out there. Just getting back to the sharpness.”

Having bid farewell to Kane in the summer of 2023, Spurs are now preparing to part with another iconic figure in the form of Son Heung-min. The South Korean forward has revealed that he will be taking on a new challenge this summer - after helping Tottenham to their first trophy in 17 years last season as they saw off Manchester United in the Europa League final.
