    WHAT MASILELA SAID

"Thabo Cele was phenomenal in the midfield against Stellenbosch FC. He keeps it simple. Sometimes you don't have to be fancy. You just have to be simple and effective," the former Getafe star said on SoccerBeat YouTube Channel

"I remember coach Stuart Baxter, he would say to the young boys, less fancy, more effective. So Cele is that kind of a player, he touches it once, twice [And releases the ball], he does not complicate things."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Before joining Chiefs, Cele had not played competitive football for two months as the Russian Premier League went on winter break before he departed from the club.

The KZN academy graduate is still acclimating to the South African Premier Soccer League football as he only played in the development ranks before relocating to Europe.

Amakhosi also secured the signatures of Congolese forward Glody Lilepo and Tashreeq Morris during the January transfer window.

The former SL Benfica B player will be hoping to help Amakhosi overcome Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 match on February 15.
