    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Chiefs signed the Bucs youngster in February this year after impressive performances with Pele Pele FC, Pirates' junior side in the ABC Motsepe League, Gauteng Division.

Chiefs were probably excited by Mofokeng's skills and were hopeful he was going to sharpen their striking department.

During the 2024/25 season, Mofokeng scored crucial goals for Chiefs, and in April, he managed to score in two straight games.

Meanwhile, Pirates have the tradition of promoting their talented academy products, and in recent times, Mohau Nkota and Mbekezeli Mbokazi are the beneficiaries of that tradition.

Nkota has already left the club after an impressive individual campaign last season, while Mbokazi was voted as one of the vice captains going into the new season.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MOFOKENG?

Seen as an intelligent and versatile player with a high work rate, Chiefs expect Mofokeng to deliver even more during the season-long loan.

Pirates are expected to keenly follow Mofokeng's development in Botswana, and if he continues performing impressively, then he will surely be brought back and integrated into the senior team.
