Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has hit out at Manuel Neuer’s decision-making after the veteran goalkeeper’s early blunder cost his side in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Augsburg. The mistake allowed the hosts to score the fastest goal in the history of the Bundesliga, leaving the German giants frustrated in their pursuit of the top spot.

Bayern Munich were held to a 2-2 draw by Augsburg in a chaotic Bavarian derby defined by extreme statistical dominance and defensive fragility. Despite Harry Kane providing two assists, a historic early error and clinical finishing from the hosts forced the Rekordmeister to settle for a point.

Manuel Neuer is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers to ever grace the pitch, but the Bayern Munich veteran endured a moment he will want to forget immediately on Saturday. The German icon was at the heart of a shocking defensive lapse that saw Bundesliga records tumble within seconds of the opening whistle.

Harry Kane is reportedly on the verge of committing his long-term future to Bayern Munich following a sensational form for club and country. The England captain has become the focal point of Vincent Kompany's side, leading to intense negotiations regarding a contract extension that would keep him at the Allianz Arena for the foreseeable future.
