Mamelodi Sundowns could be affected by a player exodus in the upcoming months with several players yet to renew their contracts.
It is believed that players such as Hlompho Kekana, Wayne Sandilands and a number of others, have not extended their contracts despite their deals expiring at the end of June. However, according to The Sowetan, Masandawana’s coach and club officials are confident they will tie down the respective players sooner rather than later.
The Brazilians most recently extended the contracts of Denis Onyango, Wayne Arendse and Anthony Laffor.
Meanwhile, Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane remains unfazed by the threat of losing Kekana. The 31-year-old reportedly has suitors already waiting in the wings if he fails to sign a new deal with the Tshwane giants.
"We look after our players. I think you know what happens to the prizemoney when we win any cup. So do you really want that? You know how many trophies we won last year? The president (Patrice Motsepe) gave us all the money," Mosimane told the publication.

Furthermore, Sundowns’ spokesman Thulani Thuswa confirmed that negotiations were ongoing with the respective parties.
"All I know is that we are talking to everyone and we are not relaxed in the negotiations,” Thuswa said.
"You have to understand that we've had back-to-back games, so we don't want to stress players with contract issues.
"But I can tell you we are in a serious relationship with our players," Thuswa concluded.
