    Nicolo Barella wants a move to Inter despite Roma having agreed on a fee with Cagliari, according to

    Roma have offered Luca Pellegrini, Gregoire Defrel and money to secure the signing of Barella, and have outpaced Inter's offer.

    But Inter have an agreement with Barella and he refuses to go back on that promise to Inter, leaving all parties at an impasse.

    Ajax out on Odegaard

    Ajax have decided against signing Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard, which could pave the way him to move to the Bundesliga, according to AS.

    Odegaard had been linked to Ajax, but sporting director Marc Overmars decided against pursuing the attacker any further.

    Instead he could land at Bayer Leverkusen, in either a loan deal for Odegaard or a permanent sale with a buy-back option.

    Brighton sign Portsmouth defender Clarke

    Brighton are nearing a deal with Portsmouth to sign defender Matt Clarke, with the Sun reporting the defender will undergo a medical Friday.

    The 22-year-old Clarke will arrive after the Premier League club is set to pay £3.4 million, though it could rise to £5m with add ons.

    Clarke was Portsmouth's player of the year last season, as well as a member of the PFA League One team of the season.

    Liverpool target Junior Firpo

    Liverpool have targeted Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo as their replacement for Alberto Moreno, according to Sport.

    Moreno has departed the club on free transfer and Klopp sees Firpo as an option to maintain the competition in his squad, even with Andy Robertson at the position.

    However, Firpo's contract, which runs through 2023, has a €50 million (£45m/$56m) release clause and Betis would require that amount paid in full for any deal.

    Wooten to sign with Union

    The Philadelphia Union are near a deal to sign United States international Andrew Wooten, according to Pro Soccer USA.

    Wooten's former club Sandhausen confirmed his exit to Major League soccer on social media on Thursday.

    A deal could be announced as early as later Thursday depending on when paperwork is completed, with Wooten to join the club when his contract expires at the end of the month.

    Barca sign Dutch defender

    Barcelona have announced signing of Dutch defender Mike van Beijnen to their B side on free transfer, the La Liga champions have announced.

    The 20-year-old has spent time with NAC Breda, Willem II, featuring entirely for their youth sides.

    Van Beijnen is the son of the agent of Frenkie de Jong, who negotiated the former Ajax player's move to Barca earlier this year.

    Juventus confident of signing Rabiot

    Juventus are confident of securing a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, with the Bianconeri hoping to seal an agreement by the end of the week.

    Goal can confirm the midfielder, who is set to be out of contract at the end of the month, is weighing up a multi-year contract of €7 million (£6m/$8m) per season from the Serie A champions, with additional bonuses possible.

    Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has been personally overseeing the Rabiot pursuit and in the last few days had the opportunity to speak directly with the midfielder’s mother and agent, Veronique.

    Everton have opened talks with Chelsea over bringing back Kurt Zouma next season, according to the Telegraph.

    Zouma's season-long loan completed and having returned to Chelsea, Everton are hopeful of him returning permanently though they know a move will not be cheap.

    With Chelsea facing a transfer ban, the departure of Gary Cahill and injury to Antonio Rudiger, it is possible the Blues will not be willing to part with Zouma over fears of lack of defensive depth.

    England will help Man Utd seal Wan-Bissaka deal

    England Under-21 coach Aidy Boothroyd insists that he and the rest of his staff will do whatever is necessary to facilitate Aaron Wan-Bissaka's potential switch from Crystal Palace to Manchester United. 

    Wan-Bissaka, 21, is currently in Italy with the rest of the Young Lions but while he represents his country, back in England the Red Devils and Palace continue to negotiate his transfer.

    The defender's absence for international duty obviously presents certain difficulties in closing any deal, but Boothroyd is not concerned about the issue causing potential disruption in his squad.

    Manchester City have appeared to beat Manchester United to Harry Maguire's signature with a medical for the centre-back pencilled in, according to the Daily Star.

    United have long been pursuing Maguire, but City have moved in front and could complete a £65 million ($83m) deal by next week.

    The Liga giants hope Mbappe does not renew his contract, which runs through 2023, with Paris Saint-Germain this year, and then hands in a transfer request.
