Ajax Cape Town have confirmed that they will be heading to court to request the results of the promotion/relegation play-offs set aside.
The Urban Warriors also want to be reinstated back to position 15 on the PSL and be allowed to participate in the play-offs.
Ajax made the announcement on their official social media pages on Thursday night, indicating that the battle is far from over.
Their case will be heard in the South Gauteng High Court on the 14th and 15th of June 2018, the club said.
They were docked seven points for fielding Tendai Ndoro and subsequently relegated to the National First Division soon after the final day of the season. The club aims to have the decision reviewed by the court.
According to Fifa rules, a player can sign for three different clubs in one season, but that particular can only play for two during that period.
Ndoro featured for Orlando Pirates prior to his move to Saudi Arabian side Al Faisaly before returning to South Africa six months later to sign and play for the Urban Warriors in official competitions.
While the matter was raised in the early stages of Ndoro's arrival at Ajax, the club continued to use the Zimbabwean forward for their league games, and after the verdict by the South African Football Association (Safa) arbitrator William Mokhari SC, the Cape Town side forfeited all the matches they won and drawn where Ndoro was used.
Ajax tried to stop the play-offs from taking place, but the South Gauteng High Court struck their urgent application off the roll.
However, they have not stopped believing that they can still win the case and have Mokhari's verdict overturned by the court.
As things stand, Black Leopards will play in the PSL next season after winning the promotion/relegation play-offs which consisted of Platinum Stars and Jomo Cosmos.
