Wydad Casablanca react to reports that Rhulani Mokwena has gone for eight months without a salary and coach paying for additional equipment

Reports have emerged suggesting that Wydad Casablanca have not paid Rhulani Mokwena his salary for eight months and the coach is said to be forced to fork out money from his own pocket for additional equipment.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach's representatives are said to be set to meet Wydad to discuss this alleged breach of contract by the club.

Wydad president Hicham Ait Menna has responded to the reports about Mokwrna not being paid.

"Everything being circulated in this regard is a rumour," Menna was quoted by KickOff as having said, as per Al3omk.Com

Reports about Mokwena's situation come at a time when Wydad have been struggling for form.

They have failed to win their last four Botola Pro League matches and collected four points from as many draws, leaving them third on the table and in danger of not securing a Caf Champions League spot for next season.

Wydad have also been eliminated from the prestigious Moroccan Throne Cup and that places Mokwena at a high risk of losing his job.

Wydad's difficult run of form is a threat to Mokwena's chances of leading the team at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup.

Despite the salary issue, the South African is preparing to guide his side to host fierce rivals Raja Casablanca in a league match on Saturday.
