    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs hosted Richards Bay at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday night in the Premier Soccer League outing.

Despite the sending-off of Reeve Frosler following a second bookable offence, goals from Wandile Duba and Ashley du Preez sealed the deal against the opponents who got their sole strike-through Yanela Mbuthuma.

It was the Chiefs' third win after six league matches having managed two victories, as many losses, and a draw from their previous assignments.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

One player who the fans most definitely wanted to see is Gaston Sirino.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has started life at Chiefs on a high note. He has two goals and four assists in just seven appearances across all competitions.

Nevertheless, he sat on the bench for the entire game on Wednesday.

His coach Nasreddine Nabi has since explained why he did not field Sirino.

    WHAT NABI SAID

“He’s coming from an injury; even the [Home of Legends] tournament that we played in [Port Elizabeth] he was injured," the Tunisian clarified.

“We were planning to give him some minutes during the game but given the circumstances with the red card we couldn’t risk it but we’ll probably see him in the next games," Nabi concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

Nabi and his technical team are surely hoping Sirino will be fit enough to play Royal AM on Saturday at the same venue in Polokwane.

Amakhosi will be aiming for another win to help them surge upwards on the Premier Soccer League table.
