    WHAT HAPPENED?

Orlando Pirates have announced the signing of midfielder Sipho Mbule.

The 27-year-old was signed as a free agent after being released by Mamelodi Sundowns who had loaned him out to Sekhukhune United last season.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mbule had been strongly linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.

But it is Amakhosi's arch-rivals Pirates who won his signature and his acquisition was announced just after Pirates appointed Abdeslam Ouaddou as their new coach.

The Moroccan trainer has been an admirer of Mbule and could be the one behind signing the former SuperSport United star.

    WHAT NEXT FOR PIRATES?

Alleged disciplinary issues have followed Mbule through his time at both Sundowns and on-loan at Sekhukhune United.

These issues present Ouaddou with a tough task to deal with Mbule and ensure he gets the best out of the player.

Only time will tell whether the Moroccan coach and the Pirates set up will prove a fit for the mercurial midfielder.
