Mbappe broke his nose leaping for a header in the 1-0 win over Austria at Euro 2024. THE EXPLANATION

The report claims Madrid's concerns lie around the unveiling of Mbappe later on in the summer. When he finishes up at Euro 2024, he will go under the knife and head to the Santiago Bernabeu to be presented in front of the faithful Madridstas. But senior figures at the club are concerned that the media will capture Mbappe with a bruised and broken face following his incident, taking away from the spectacle.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Mbappe is yet to ever score at the European Championship. France's prolific talisman was in fine form for Paris Saint-Germain in 2023-24, scoring 44 times, but the 25-year-old cannot seem to find the net for his country this summer, missing a particularly shocking one-on-one against Austria.

WHAT NEXT FOR MBAPPE AND REAL MADRID?

Madrid will be hoping that Mbappe makes a very speedy recovery over the next few weeks and can be unveiled officially without any marks. The man himself may have to sit out for the next game at least but will return for France with a mask to prevent any further damage being done to his nose.
