Polokwane City coach makes bold claim about TS Galaxy - 'I think they are stronger than Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns'

Polokwane City coach Phuti Mohafe has made an unexpected statement regarding Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, indicating that TS Galaxy are more formidable than the two prominent clubs.

The 50-year-old tactician has already faced Chiefs, Sundowns, and the Rockets this season. He achieved victories against Amakhosi and Downs, while the match with Galaxy ended in a draw.

Mohafe expressed his surprising opinion after Rise and Shine's victory over Nasreddine Nabi's team on Sunday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

"Up to so far, I can say there are special matches that Polokwane City has played. I think we have treated them well, it's (Mamelodi) Sundowns, (Kaizer) Chiefs, and TS Galaxy," Mohafe told journalists. 

"TS Galaxy is a strong team, it is a strong team, and it is stronger than Chiefs and Sundowns, according to me.

"They are very difficult for that team to beat. So, these three matches have been the mirror of what we are doing as the technical team of Polokwane City and as Polokwane City as a whole." 

TS Galaxy began the season poorly under current Young Africans head coach Sead Ramovic, who departed from the Rockets after suffering defeats in the first four games of the season.

Conversely, Sundowns have only lost one match in the league and they have also made it to the Carling Knockout final, where they lost to Magesi FC

Chiefs, on the other hand, are having difficulty in collecting positive points, yet some football enthusiasts argue that Nabi is steering Amakhosi in the right direction.

Despite all this, Mohafe, whose team is sitting in third place on the PSL table after an explosive start to the campaign, maintains that Galaxy are superior to the two Gauteng powerhouses.

Interestingly, Chiefs will face off against Galaxy in their next PSL encounter. Nabi and his pressured players will strive to demonstrate that Mohafe is incorrect.

Meanwhile, Sundowns are preparing for their much-anticipated Caf Champions League match against Raja Casablanca.

On the other hand, Polokwane City’s attention will be directed towards securing victories in their remaining two league matches before the end of the year,  with their next game being against Marumo Gallants.
