    WHAT HAPPENED?

Orlando Pirates and Stade d'Abidjan have been placed in Group C of the Caf Champions League assignment.

The Buccaneers have four points from two matches, the same as leaders Al Ahly who have a superior goal difference.

CR Beluizdad have managed three points while the Ivorian champions have none.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

On Saturday, Pirates will be away against the West African outfit at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny.

Having lost their two games already, it is normal for players from Bucs to take it easy.

However, coach Jose Riveiro is not getting carried away by the opponent's recent record.

The Spaniard insists it will be a tough call but he expects his players to claim maximum points in the pool.

    WHAT RIVEIRO SAID

“It's an away game... they didn't get a good result in the first game in Cairo [and CR Belouizdad]," he told the media.

"But you see the type of team they are; we managed to see that they've got multiple ways of playing.

"They're quite rich tactically and for sure an away game is going to be tough, it is going to be difficult. But I'm optimistic and I'm looking at the fixture as an opportunity to try to fight for the three points," Riveiro continued.

“Imagine if we do it. To find ourselves in the third game of the group stage with those points [seven].

“It would be nice, but we know we have to work so hard to make it possible, do what we did in Algeria [beating Belouizdad 2-1] and like we did it [on Saturday drawing against Ahly]. There's everything to be played for in the group.”

    WHAT NEXT?

Pirates have no midweek domestic assignment that might shift their focus.

It gives Riveiro total concentration to the critical continental fixture knowing a win will be vital.

There will be enough time for players to recover from knocks that they could have suffered against the Egyptian champions.
