Kaizer Chiefs to finally sign Sipho Mbule for FREE? Agent sends message to Mamelodi Sundowns amid expiring contract - 'I'm not concerned, he’s a talented player'

Mike Makaab of ProSport, the agency that manages Sipho Mbule, has revealed that Mamelodi Sundowns hold an option to renew the midfielder’s contract. If the club decides not to exercise that option, Mbule will become a free agent and can sign with any team.

Makaab, a former Orlando Pirates coach, spoke highly of his natural talent and potential. He emphasized that has has what it takes to succeed at the highest level. However, he admitted that the player has faced off-the-field challenges.

He has confirmed that these issues are being addressed in hopes of getting Mbule’s career back on track. The agent remains confident that the player can bounce back with the right support. It’s now up to Sundowns to decide whether they still see a future with the midfielder.

“Mamelodi Sundowns have until the end of May to exercise the option; if they don’t exercise the option, then Sipho is a free agent. We will then look at the number of possibilities for him,” Makaab said on Extra Time.

I’m not concerned, he is a talented player. Yes, of course, he has his problems, we don’t have to beat around the bush about that, he is a talented football player, and I’m convinced that he is going to put his best forward.

“He has an option. If Mamelodi Sundowns take the option, then we have to look at other means of trying to move him if both he and the club are not keen to continue with their relationship.

“It’s never as easy as we’ve done in the past. We're gonna have to take this case carefully, examine all the possibilities and then hopefully guide and assist Sipho in making the right decision for his future.”

During his loan spell at Sekhukhune United, Sipho Mbule managed to score two goals, reminding fans of the quality he possesses. Despite his talent, discipline has been a recurring concern.

His former teammate at Sekhukhune United, Daniel Cardoso, has also publicly urged him to get his act together.

Cardoso warned that Mbule needs to take control of his career before it's too late. With the right mindset, he can still turn things around and fulfill his early promise.

With just a few days left until his contract expires, all eyes are on Mamelodi Sundowns’ next move. The club must decide whether to trigger the renewal clause or let him go. As his agent pointed out, the ball is in Masandawana’s court. If they opt against renewal, Makaab and his team will begin searching for a new club for the midfielder.

In 2022, when Mbule joined Sundowns, he was also on the radar of Kaizer Chiefs and it remains to be seen whether Amakhosi would be interested in the player if he becomes a free agent soon.
