Liverpool, beware! Marc Guehi free transfer under threat as European giants weigh up rivalling Reds' interest

  • How did Palace block Guehi's Liverpool move?

Guehi had already undergone a medical with Liverpool before being told the proposed move was off after Palace boss Oliver Glasner held heated discussions with owner Steve Parish. Glasner, 51, pleaded for England international Guehi to remain at Selhurst Park as the club struggled to sign an ideal replacement, with Parish deciding to back his manager.

    Bayern interested in Guehi pre-contract

Guehi, whose Palace contract expires at the end of the 2025-26 season, will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club in January. And German reporter Christian Falk claims Bayern are considering rivalling Liverpool for the former Chelsea man's signature.

  • Falk reveals Guehi remains on Bayern's transfer wishlist

In quotes carried by CF Bayern Insider, Falk said when discussing Bayern's pursuit of a new centre-back: "In defence, you have Marc Guehi – sure, the Crystal Palace centre-back is interesting. But he also would have cost money this summer.

"With the window shut, they [Bayern] now want to see how the defence will perform. Now they have to see if it works, or if they’ll want to sell Kim Min-jae. Guehi could be an option for the future, but Castello Lukeba from RB Leipzig is also on their list.”

  • Guehi's response to failed Liverpool transfer

Guehi put to bed any doubts about his focus following his scuppered Liverpool move as he starred in England's victories over Andorra and Serbia this week. The 25-year-old started both of the Three Lions' World Cup qualifiers, scoring his first senior goal for his country in the impressive 5-0 win over Serbia on Tuesday.
