    The return of Mudau

Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Khuliso Mudau was back to take part in Mamelodi Sundowns' 1-1 draw with Marumo Gallants in a Premier Soccer League match at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Wednesday.

It was the first time for Mudau to play competitive football this season following a period of uncertainty about his future as he pushed for a move abroad or an improved Sundowns contract.

Masandawana coach Miguel Cardoso says they are managing the Bafana Bafana defender to get him back into the right shape.

    What Cardoso said about Mudau

“Khuliso joined the team two weeks ago, hasn’t had a long time in training but has been training very well, we know what game time we can give Khuliso, we know what we have to do in terms of managing him,” Cardoso said as per iDiski Times.
“Obviously having him on the bench in the moment that Zuko is injured, is important, to manage Thapelo, that has been playing almost all our recent matches… and performance? Normal… the expectations is that he brings new energy on the right," the coach concluded.

Fighting to get back to the top

With the transfer window closing on Monday, Mudau's priority now must be to get back to the top of his game and become a Sundowns regular starter at the right-back position.

Cardoso has of late been preferring Thapelo Morena to start, while Zuko Mdunyelwa has also enjoyed some game time which earned him a spot in the Bafana squad.

There is also the national team to look at for Mudau especially with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals on the horizon.

    What next for Mudau?

Having already tasted some competitive football, Mudau is expected to enjoy more game time as he did not show any sign of being rusty against Gallants.

He is now in contention to start when the Brazilians host Durban City on Saturday.
