    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs strengthened their squad with 11 new arrivals, some of whom have played top-level football.

The Glamour Boys have been struggling to make an impact in the Premier Soccer League for the last couple of seasons, explaining why they brought in many new faces.

Nine were let go, with two going out on loan.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Of the 11 players signed, Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako, Flavio Silva, Nkanyisa Mayo, and Siphesihle Ndlovu are the only ones who have played in the Premier Soccer League.

Some are nursing injuries, while others are working on their match fitness. However, Ethan Chislett and Nkanyiso Shinga have been with the team since pre-season and are ready to feature.

Assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has now explained why the duo has not been given time to show their worth.

    WHAT BEN YOUSSEF SAID

“With Shinga and Ethan, both of them are with us; they are training," the assistant tactician coach stated.

"As coaches, we know when the right moments will be to introduce them to the team, they keep working with a good attitude in training, and very good performances in training.
“We are waiting until the best moment to introduce them to the team," Ben Youssef concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

It is highly unlikely that Chislett and Shinga will play on Saturday when Chiefs play Kabuscorp in the second leg of the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Angolan side won the previous meeting by a solitary goal.

Nevertheless, more new players might be introduced against Siwelele in the next PSL outing.
