    WHAT MOTAUNG SAID

"The challenge and the unfortunate part when it comes to the transfer window and us as Chiefs is that irrespective of what we say, we are always linked with every single player, and all of our players are always said to be likely to leave," Motaung said according to iDiski Times.

"To be honest, most of the time it is very far from the truth but it is a narrative that we know we can’t really control, although those elements cause instability.

"We just need to be very responsible from our side and try to the best of our abilities to communicate with our supporters through our branches and other mediums so that they understand where we are going so they can be with us on the journey," he added.

"It is a difficult time of speculations but we will make the official announcements and communicate at the appropriate time."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

With only seven days remaining before the current transfer window closes, Chiefs have yet to announce any new players despite significant demand from the club's supporters.

Nevertheless, Amakhosi have secured the signing of SuperSport United striker Tashreeq Morris on a two-and-a-half-year deal as the first addition to Nasreddine Nabi's squad.

In addition, the Soweto giants are pursuing the signatures of Bafana Bafana and Polokwane City star Oswin Appollis, as well as Richards Bay's right-back Lwandile Mabuya, as they seek to strengthen their squad.
