Kaizer Chiefs reject Khulumani Ndamane breaks silence on leaving Amakhosi for TS Galaxy and pleads, 'I didn’t do anything wrong'

    Coming through Chiefs' development ranks

Khulumani Ndamane played for the Kaizer Chiefs Under-19 and reserve side before moving to TS Galaxy after seeing that the opportunity for him to play in the first team was slim.

Interestingly, he went the opposite way with another centre-back, Given Msimango, who was leaving the Rockets to join Amakhosi.

But the move to TS Galaxy gave him the opportunity to break into the Bafana Bafana fold, and Chiefs have been criticised for letting him go. He explains why he left the Soweto giants.

From Sahlumbe to the big stage

Ndamane reflects on the early days of his career, followed by his fast rise to become a full international player.

“I’m from KZN from a rural area called Sahlumbe," Ndame said as per iDiski Times

"So my journey, I went to trial at Chiefs I think it was in 2023, I trialled there and they took me [and signed me]. I played in the U19 side and DDC team, and from DDC I came here to TS Galaxy."

    Did Ndamane flop at Chiefs?

"I didn’t do anything wrong [at Chiefs]. My story is different [to Puso Dithejane]. I didn’t do anything wrong and nothing bad happened," Ndamane added.
“I think as a player I wanted to grow in football, so playing for the DDC side there, I realised that I can do more.

"Because I didn’t play for the first team didn’t mean I wasn’t good, so I was able to come and try my luck here at TS Galaxy.”

    What comes next?

Now that he is in the Bafana squad, having been with Hugo Broos' side in the last two national team camps for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Ndamane has a lot to play for.

Staying on top of his game will help him go to December's Africa Cup of Nations finals as well as the World Cup.
