Kaizer Chiefs provide update on 'growing injury list' as former Mamelodi Sundowns players could make Amakhosi debuts against Siwelele FC

    Chiefs out to stop winless run

    Kaizer Chiefs host Siwelele FC in a Premier Soccer League at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

    The Soweto giants go into this match on the backdrop of a two-match winless run and having not scored in those games.

    It is a match the coaches would need a wide pool of players to pick from and the club issues an injury update.

    Who joins Chiefs' growing injury list?

    Ethan Chislett is yet to make his Amakhosi debut and the club now says he is injured after appearing on the bench on a few occasions.

    "The medical team are currently managing a growing injury list, with George Matlou, Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Bontle Molefe, Given Msimango and Rushwin Dortley all sidelined," Chiefs said in a statement. 

    "Msimango and Dortley, in particular, have been out for extended periods, posing selection challenges for the technical team."

    Who could make their Chiefs debut?

    There are players working their way to the making their official debut for Amakhosi.

    "Despite these setbacks, there’s a silver lining. The squad is seeing a wave of recoveries that could bolster the team in the coming games," the club added. 

    "Lebohang Maboe, Etiosa Ighodaro, and Nkanyiso Shinga are edging closer to full match fitness, offering the coaching staff a welcome selection dilemma."

    What comes next?

    Chiefs did not mention Thabiso Monyane, who has also been injured and that could leave fans guessing that the right-back might be back to full fitness.

    The Soweto giants now prepare to face Siwelele who have in their ranks Amakhosi loanees Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane who will not play Wednesday's match.
