    WHAT HAPPENED?

    WHAT MOTHIBA SAID

“Right now, I would say the injury is finished, and I’m done with rehabilitation. I am back. I’m 100 per cent fit,” Mothiba told FARPost.

“But I was struggling to get a team, not struggling per se, but all the teams here in France they are like, ‘Lebo listen, you still not the 100%, so we can’t take you’.

“So, but now I’m 100% back. I have no pain in my knee, even after my training sessions, because I’m still training with Strasbourg, doing everything with Strasbourg with the team," he added.

“And every time I’m done with training, I don’t have pain in my knee anymore like before. So I would say I’m fully back now, 100 per cent fit.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mothiba has recovered at a time when Chiefs are in the hunt for a striker after failing to sign one in the last transfer window.

In June 2024, he was spotted at Naturena in what flared up rumoured that he was an Amakhosi transfer target even though he was injured.

However, what could discourage Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi from signing Mothiba is that the striker is injury-prone.

But his status as a free agent could be attractive in terms of conducting transfer business.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MOTHIBA?

Since he is a free agent, Mothiba can join a new team even before the opening of the PSL transfer window in January.

It remains to be seen if Amakhosi will consider signing him and if that happens, it will be the first time for him to play in the Premier Soccer League.
