    WHAT HAPPENED?

Walter Musona beat Khama Billiat to the 2024 Zimbabwean PSL Soccer Star of the Year prize on Friday night having played an integral role in helping Simba Bhora win the league title.

Musona, who is the younger brother of former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Knowledge, became the first player to win the award with two different clubs - FC Platinum in 2022 and Simba Bhora in 2024.

Billiat, on the other hand, was nominated for the accolade after playing a key role in helping Yadah retain their status in the Southern African country's top tier.

However, the former Chiefs star scooped the Fans' Choice Award and was also included in the Team of the Season.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Musona, who was on the books of Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United between 2017 and 2021, has been linked with Chiefs, and newly-promoted Zimbabwean PSL side Scottland FC, an ambitious club.

Scottland have several big-name Zimbabwean players on their books, including former University of Pretoria midfielder Denver Mukamba and ex-Chippa United left-back Ronald Pfumbidzai.
