    WHAT HAPPENED?

Khama Billiat turned down a downwardly reviewed contract by Kaizer Chiefs to return to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League to sign for Yadah FC.

The 34-year-old has been in impressive form in his home league and is even back in the Zimbabwe national team.

There are rumours that some Premier Soccer League clubs are interested in him and Billiat has responded to the reports.

    WHAT BILLIAT SAID

“Let’s say it’s a great recognition. You know, as players, you always want your effort to be recognised, and I truly appreciate and, ja, it makes me feel young again,” Billiat told iDiski Times.

“You never know with football? Like I just wanted to focus on the league back home. We’re left with five games, I think, and see how far I can go, and where we are and how I did throughout the season. Then sit down and look, if there’s interest, you never know…”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Following his return to his home country, Billiat has shown that he is not a spent force as he is in the Golden Boot race with 12 goals, the same as two other players in this tight contest.

If another dance in the PSL happens, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star will be under scrutiny to see if he can recreate the form that made him a household name in South African football.

    WHAT NEXT FOR BILLIAT?

The Zimbabwean league is expected to end in early December and from then, Billiat's future may take a turn back to the south of the Limpopo River.

A January move would see the Warriors star playing football consecutively for one and a half seasons.
