'We had that connection we loved' - Harry Kane pays touching tribute to Son Heung-min after Tottenham star departs for LAFC

Days after the 33-year-old announced he was leaving Tottenham, Son signed for LAFC to end 10 years at the north London club. Now, Kane, who played alongside Son for eight years at Spurs, has sung the praises of the South Korean international, both as a player and a person.

He told reporters: "Massive congratulations to him and his career at Tottenham. First and foremost, [he is] a great person. I've got to know him really well as a friend, and just how humble he is and how good a guy he is. I think as a player, you know, we had one of the best partnerships in Premier League history. We just had that connection that we loved."

Kane and Son combined directly for 47 goals, making them the most prolific partnership in Premier League history. They spent the best part of a decade together as team-mates and developed a close bond. And it is clear both wish nothing but the best for each other as Son prepares for life in Major League Soccer.

As Kane prepares for the new season with Bayern, former Bayer Leverkusen star Son could make his LAFC debut against Chicago Fire on Saturday night, or if not away to New England Revolution a week later.
