    WHAT HAPPENED?

Botola Pro League side Wydad Athletic Club appointed South African tactician Rhulani Mokwena a couple of months ago to steer them forward.

The 37-year-old had helped Mamelodi Sundowns win back-to-back Premier Soccer League titles and the African Football League in the last two seasons.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Having finished sixth in the Moroccan top tier last season, Mokwena was given the mandate to help the Red Castle regain their status.

However, he has not had the best of starts in North Africa and recently he suffered defeats against CODM Meknes and RS Berkane, respectively.

Wydad AC fans were unhappy with the results which prompted them to aim objects at the tactician and the playing unit.

Former Orlando Pirates coach who also served as Wydad Casablanca's assistant coach Fadlu Davids insists Mokwena will deliver if he is given time.

    WHAT DAVIDS SAID

"I don’t think it’s about me giving him advice because he is a very good coach," the Simba SC coach told Far Post.

"I am 100% sure he will do well there. It’s just important for the club to give him time. Like myself, he has 17 new players to integrate.

"I know exactly what he’s going through; it’s not easy to hit the ground running. With new players, you are still beginning to understand them. They come into a big club in Morocco, and every match is challenging when it comes to picking up points. I am confident he will achieve success, and I wish him all the best," Davids concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

Mokwena is under pressure to start delivering for the team as soon as possible, especially after recent losses.

If things don't work in his favour, the former Orlando Pirates coach might see his three-year contract cut short.
