Pressure mounts on Rhulani Mokwena as Wydad AC register second successive Botola Pro League defeat against 10-man RS Berkane

Rhulani Mokwena's Wydad Athletic Club dropped more points after suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat to RS Berkane in a Botola Pro League clash on Saturday.

Berkane were reduced to ten men after Mateus Santos' red card in the 50th minute. 

However, Ayoub Khairi's goal in the 75th minute was enough to secure three points for the two-time Caf Confederation Cup champions. 

Wydad's loss to Berkane meant two successive defeats for the Moroccan giants in the Botola Pro League this season after a disheartening loss to CODM Meknes in the midweek fixture. 

The 37-year-old mentor's side is in sixth place in the league standings with 11 points from eight games—having won three, drawn two, and lost three matches. 

Before the game against Berkane, reports emerged stating that patience is starting to wear thin with Mokwena with the club's hierarchy asking for a meeting to discuss the team's poor performance. 

Results from the next matches might determine Mokwena's popularity, which is in decline. This could put his job in danger, considering that North African teams take no time to fire coaches. 

The Red Castle will be looking to improve on their recent disappointing performances and results when they face FUS Rabat on Sunday, November 3.
