    WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns captain Dan "Dance" Malesela, has spoken out for the first time following his firing from Marumo Gallants.

The outspoken coach was let go last Thursday alongside former Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki, who was a technical director at the club, after a string of disappointing results.

Days after his exit from Gallants, a disheartened Malesela, who had been placed on special leave in December before rejoining the team, shared his thoughts on his departure.

    WHAT MALESELA SAID

"I don't know much about the statement. Honestly, I don’t have much to say, I'm just tired, I really don’t know what to say," Malesela told KickOff.com.

"Obviously, there are some issues, but I haven’t received any formal communication from the club.

"I only got a verbal notice, but... there’s nothing more to discuss, just verbal communication," added the Nedbank Cup winning coach.

    "I don't know how I'm feeling, I'm numb.

"So, it's okay. I'm still waiting for the official letter from the club. I truly don’t know."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Gallants are sitting in 14th place in the PSL standings, having achieved only four wins, four draws, and ten losses with 12 matches remaining in the season.

The team is currently being overseen by assistant coaches Sundra Govender and Duncan Lechesa in an interim capacity while the club works on finalizing a new coach's appointment.

Gallants have indicated that talks are already in progress with Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who has already arrived in South Africa to finalize an agreement.
