David James booed as ex-Liverpool goalkeeper takes half-time penalty shootout way too seriously & denies young boy dream Anfield goal during Chelsea clash

James visited Anfield to promote Standard Chartered's community engagement programme, 'Futuremakers' during Liverpool's Premier League clash against Chelsea on Sunday. At half-time, the former England star slipped on a pair of goalkeeping gloves and took position between the sticks against a young kid. However, the ex-Reds star took the fun penalty shootout way too seriously as he denied the child from scoring his dream Anfield goal twice by saving his shots. James' actions did not go down well with the fans at the stadium as they booed their old hero.

In a closely fought encounter on Sunday, the Merseyside club got the better of the Blues as they edged them out 2-1 to retain their position at the top of the Premier League table. Mohamed Salah and Curtis Jones were on target for the hosts while Nicolas Jackson scored one for Enzo Maresca's team.

James, 54, spent seven years at Liverpool between 1992 to 1999 where he won one League Cup and was named in the Premier League Team of the Year in the 1995-96 campaign.
