“I think having one person that comes from the same country as you actually helped us,” Mailula told Andile Ncube on Metro FM, as quoted by iDiski Times.
“It made me feel—how can I put it—to feel free if I want to share something with him because of the language," he added.
“It actually made things easier for me to play on the pitch because he would be able to communicate something with me to fix something, and I could be able to do the same back to him.
“Actually, having him was really amazing, because we also stayed at the same complex; we’d go to training together, and even off the pitch we’d spend more time together instead of being alone, where you can’t go out alone, and you can’t do certain things alone.
“That also helped me a lot to feel at home.”
