Getty Images SportCassius Mailula recently announced he will be returning to Major League Soccer side Toronto FC following the end of his season-long loan spell at Wydad Casablanca.
However, the 24-year-old forward says he is open to a permanent move from Toronto, although he would give Mamelodi Sundowns priority.
His agent Karabo Tshabuse has confirmed three offers for the former Masandawana striker.
Wydad AC"You can't block an opportunity to come back home," said Mailula on Metro FM.
"It also depends on what they are offering, what their plan is with me. I can't say I'm going to close that door. It will be nice but also I know that I'm very ambitious and my goal and dream is to still go to Europe.
"I'll start by looking at what's there, put aside for me in Europe or other big leagues. I'm still contracted to Toronto, I have to respect them and I know that I still have a lot to offer them. I feel like I have unfinished business with them," added the Bafana Bafana star.
On whether he would consider joining Chiefs, he said, "I love Sundowns, they are home, I think even the club president knows that is my first love. Before I can think of other teams, obviously, I'll start with Sundowns and after that, if things don't go well in terms of negotiations, then I'll start thinking of other teams."
Wydad AC"Toronto have been so gracious, they have opened up to us giving them options. I have three offers on my desk at the moment, but we’re doing the same exercise," said Tshabuse.
“I think that experience is the best school for anybody so now we’re a little bit more cautious. We want to speak to head coaches, we want to understand what we’re getting into.
“I can reveal one [offer] is Egyptian, one of them is European, but baby Europe, not the top five leagues. To be honest, the local guys have shown just support for Cassius, to want to understand what is going on with him, he’s open to that, but at the moment we’re taking our time," she added.
"And [another offer from] the Middle East somewhere. We have considerations, but we might announce something completely different, it’s that time of the season."
Wydad ACMailula's next move could be influenced by the desire to go to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals with Bafana Bafana.
South Africa coach Hugo Broos is not an admirer of Major League Soccer because of its quality, as well as the distance traveled by players when reporting for national team duty.
Mailula's performance at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, especially during Wydad's last game against Al Ain, might have been a statement that might market him to other teams.
A transfer to Kaizer Chiefs appears a distant option for the striker, given how Amakhosi players have been struggling for national team opportunities.

This is despite Toronto FC being in the middle of their MLS campaign.
