Carling Knockout: Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns & other PSL teams learn dates & venues for annual competition

Teams in the Premier Soccer League have a chance to battle for millions of Rands in the Carling Knockout.

The competition starts from the Round of 16 all the way to the final.

Last season, Magesi FC defied the odds to go all the way and become the only team that has ever won a major title in the country in their debut season in South Africa's top-flight football.

"The Round of 16 will take place over the weekend of 3 to 5 October 2025, with eight exciting matches scheduled across the country as teams compete for a place in the quarterfinals," PSL said in a statement.

"Carling Knockout debutants Durban City FC will get proceedings underway on Friday, 3 October, when they host Polokwane City at Chatsworth Stadium. Kick-off is set for 19h00.

"The action continues on Saturday, 4 October, with a full day of fixtures. The schedule kicks off at 15h00 with two simultaneous clashes: Orlando Pirates will welcome Siwelele FC to Orlando Stadium, while Orbit College FC take on TS Galaxy FC at Olympia Park Stadium," they continued.

"In the evening, Lamontville Golden Arrows will face Sekhukhune United at King Zwelithini Stadium at 18h00, followed by a highly anticipated showdown between Mamelodi Sundowns and Marumo Gallants at Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 20h00.

"The weekend’s action concludes on Sunday, 5 October, with three more thrilling encounters. At 15h00, Richards Bay FC go up against Chippa United at Umhlathuze Sports Stadium, while Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs renew their rivalry at DHL Stadium," PSL concluded.

The winners are set to receive R6.85 million, while the losers will pocket R2.85 million.

All teams that will make the last four will be rewarded R1.35 with quarter-finalists receiving R850,000 each, while all those playing in the initial Round of 16 will get R550,000.

By virtue of playing in the competition, all teams are guaranteed a R250,000 participation fee.

Furthermore, fans will vote for the Man of the Match in every game, who will receive R100,000.

The fans in Mzansi are definitely looking forward to the thrilling experience that comes with the competition.
