Bayern Munich target another Arsenal star! Bundesliga champions give up on Leandro Trossard and eye Gunners team-mate as Luis Diaz alternative

Bayern's quest to sign a winger this summer has seen them linked with numerous names. The latest name circulating in the media is that of Trossard, who could be weighing up his options ahead of a potential summer switch. However, a report from Sky Sportin Germany confirms that the Bavarians are unlikely to sign the Arsenal man.

Per the report, Trossard has received numerous inquiries, despite reportedly being offered a new deal at the Emirates Stadium. After going through a change of agents, the ex-Brighton star is now managed by Dirk Hebel, which has cast doubts over his future in the Premier League. Although the Belgian is believed to be happy in north London, reports suggest that he has agreed a shock move to Fenerbahce after having conversations with head coach Jose Mourinho. Sky Sport mention that no concrete negotiations have taken player between Bayern and the player, who seems unwilling to sign for the Bundesliga champions.

However, The Athletic now claims that Brazil international Martinelli has drifted into Bayern's focus, though they are yet to act on their reported interest. Martinelli, 24, has two years left on his contract with the Gunners and played in 51 games in all competitions last season. He made 33 Premier League appearances, with 25 of those coming off the bench.

Despite the setback in pursuit of Trossard's signature, Die Roten continue to hope that they will be able to secure Diaz's services. The Liverpool man is willing to depart Anfield with just two years left on his contract. While the Reds were hesitant to entertain offers for the Colombian initially, their stance appears to have changed in recent days. Per reports, the Premier League holders will let Diaz go if they receive an offer worth at least €70 million (£60m/$82m). Bayern would be willing to offer the left winger a contract until 2029 or 2030, but it remains to be seen if they will match Liverpool's valuation. As things stand, talks are yet to take place.

Vincent Kompany's side will play two summer friendlies — against Tottenham on August 7 and Grasshoppers on August 12 — before kicking off the 2025-26 season by taking on Stuttgart in the DFL-Supercup on August 16.
