The conference semifinals in the NHL postseason are in full swing and that brings us a series between Central Division foes in the Lone Star State. The third-seeded Colorado Avalanche face the top-seeded Dallas Stars in critical Game 2 of their best-of-seven series on Thursday night.
In Game 1 of the series Tuesday night, Colorado got off to a slow start and had to rally from a 3-0 hole to stun the Stars 4-3 in overtime to draw first blood and steal home ice advantage away from the Stars.

Meanwhile, Jason Robertson has three goals and three assists. But Jamie Benn will be the one to keep an eye on after he bagged one goal and an assist in Game 1.
Teams usually win when they score three goals. However, their defense collapsed in Game 1. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 22 saves for the Stars, who were outshot 26-22, in the Game 1 defeat. He's expected to get the start in goal for this contest.

Avalanche will be without Jonathan Drouin (lower body) and Joel Kiviranta (lower body).
Nathan MacKinnon scored on the rebound to force overtime in Game 1. He now has three goals and nine assists. Mikko Rantanen is up to two goals and nine assists in postseason, while Cale Makar now has three goals and nine assists after making it 3-2 last time out.
Meanwhile, Artturi Lehkonen currently has five goals and three assists in the playoffs. Valeri Nishushkin scored the opener for the Avs in Game 1 and now has eight goals and one assist. Goalie Alexandar Georgiev made 19 saves for the Avalanche in the win. He's likely to get the start between the pipes again here.
