Steven Gerrard set to quit Al-Ettifaq due to 'personal reasons' as Liverpool legend prepares to step down with club marooned in bottom half of the Saudi Pro League
Steven Gerrard is set to step down from his role as Al-Ettifaq coach amid the club's dismal performances in the Saudi Pro League.
Gerrard has already asked to leave the club for personal reasons,Ben Jacobs reports, and Al-Ettifaq are set to grant his wish. The team sit 12th in the Saudi Pro League, a whopping 24 points behind leaders Al-Hilal.

Gerrard's future at the Dammam club has been under scrutiny for some time amid their disappointing performances. Speaking after his team's recent 2-2 draw against Al-Wehda, the former Liverpool midfielder said he takes "responsibility" for his team's slip up, adding: "The management of Ettifaq have provided everything the team needs in terms of support and transfers."
