Feyenoord boss Van Persie slams Sterling 'cynicism'

Robin van Persie has launched a passionate defence of Raheem Sterling, hitting out at the "cynicism" that has followed the former England international during his time in the Eredivisie. The Feyenoord manager went on the offensive following his side's victory over PEC Zwolle, claiming that the veteran winger deserves far more respect for his career achievements.

'It's over!' - Sterling branded 'biggest failure' in Feyenoord history

Raheem Sterling’s underwhelming stint in the Eredivisie appears to be reaching a definitive end after he was labelled the "biggest failure" in Feyenoord's history. Despite arriving with significant fanfare, the former Manchester City and Chelsea star has struggled for form and fitness, leading to a reported decision by the club to forgo a contract extension.
